Merry Christmas!

Ah...the Holidays are coming to an end! We had a very relaxed and enjoyable Christmas, and we hope you did too! As a nice gift, I allowed Immer to sleep in an extra hour, as Ascher and I made breakfast and potatoes for dinner that night. Ascher received many wonderful gifts (thanks again to everyone who made Ascher's first Christmas wonderful!!) from family and friends. He recieved books, clothing, lots for Leap Pad toys and this wonderful Build-A-Bear that mommie and daddie made for him....from Santa of course! Later that day, we traveled down to Tinley Park where we enjoyed a wonderful Christmas dinner with my family, and dessert at Grandma's. It really was wonderful to see everyone again, and watch the babies grow and interact with each other. Kaylin definately loves Ascher! She loves sharing her toys with him, and showing how to do "cool stuff". I can't wait till he is old enough to play along!

As for Christmas Eve, we spent that with Immer's family. Boy, there were a lot of people there....lots of new faces for Ascher and I to remember! Immer definately enjoyed himself with all the Puerto Rican food...(since his wife won't dare try making it). He also enjoyed seeing his cousins and friends that he hasn't seen in quite a while. As for Ascher, there was quite a bit of stuff to take in. Lots of girls petting and cooing over him, causing all sorts of commotion. We definately had a late night, and Ascher was up with us the entire time! He is now trying to get back on his normal sleep schedule, but with New Year's coming, I'm sure it will start all over again!

Well, I hope everyone had a wonderful and enjoyable Christmas! Love to all and Happy New Year!

Yuck!

Ascher is eating! As you can see, he is definitely not enjoying his peas. We tried cereal, but he didn't like it too well... So the other day, I just grabbed a jar of peas, and tried it. It took a while getting used to, but now I think he enjoys it. Every time I try to feed him, his thumb immediately intercepts the spoon. Nice try! But I've got him beat, I hold both arms down while shoving the spoon in his mouth, making sure the thumb does not enter. He may be smart, but I am smarter.....Although I'm not sure for how much longer!

What A Shiner!

Last week, Immer went and helped a friend build his house. They were gone all day working on the roof and lifting big heavy beams. When Immer came home, he had a huge welt above his eye....And the color arrived shortly there after. He caught a 2x4 with his eye, as he put it. It was quite scary, considering he was on a pitched roof!

Just For You!

Well, I'm sure by now all has received their Christmas cards. Now here is what we went through! Ascher was very unsure of what he was doing, and took quite a bit of motivation from Mom and Dad to get him to participate. He lost interest, so we could only do half, which means we had to do it again! Still, not enjoying it! Hopefully next year it will be easier, and more enjoyable for all involved. As for other things, We are still trying to get everything ready for Christmas. We are going to the mall tomorrow to get Ascher's presents, hopefully if we go early it won't be too horrible. I am (trying to) baking cookies and planning desserts for the busy weekend. Immer just asked me to make brownies for 150 of his clients, so I have a feeling this week will go VERY quickly. Ascher has also had hives for the past few days....from who knows what. We believe it may be from our fabric softner, so we are tyring to make such changes quickly. If it's not that, we might have to go to the doctor for tests (we are praying we don't have to!). Hopefully everyone is enjoying this holiday season, and you will get an update shortly after Christmas! Merry Ho Ho!

Finally... A Use!

Ascher has never been one to take to the bottle....Even though I tried every make and model under the sun. Since he has been sick (neighbors cold and inner ear infection), I wanted to make sure he was staying hydrated, so I tried giving him water. Well, he decided that he liked the nipple better as a chew toy instead of its actual purpose. Fine by me! It keeps him from chewing his thumbs off!
