Ascher is really into talking....and making up stories. Usually, he says things a little quicker than this. But as you can see, Mac & Cheese has taken priority!

Another Satisfied Customer

As soon as Nathan saw the cake, he wanted it. But we had to get him to eat his dinner and settle his food before he could eat. As soon as he saw us getting things ready in the kitchen, he kept asking for CAKE! He and Ascher each had a piece, but Ascher didn't show too much interest. Nathan, on the other hand, enjoyed almost all of his cake!

Hammering it out

I had a great helper this Thanksgiving! He really enjoyed breaking up the walnuts for the German Chocolate cake! I finally had to take the mallet away from him because he was turning them into powder!

An Early Thanksgiving!

Last weekend, we had an early Thanksgiving for Immer's family. Mitzi and Nathan made the venture from Manitowoc and spent the weekend visiting. We started the festivities on Saturday with a late breakfast. We then headed to Immer's parents house to see how the two children would interact. They did really well with sharing and running, but Nathan was having an off day and wasn't too sure of some of the things going on. Then on Sunday, everyone headed to our house for a feast. Ascher and Nathan definitely had more fun together. They played in the tent...with the train...colored....and other such chaos that two little boys like to do. The meal definately turned out better than last year...and everyone really enjoyed it. I was definately pleased with the way that everything turned out! It has boosted my turkey/entertaining/cooking ego and might start making it more often! The dessert was the best though. I might a German Chocolate Cake, and my father-in-law made Mexican Hot Chocolate! My neighbors joined us for this feast....and we couldn't get them to leave! It was so good and enjoyable, and a great ending for a great weekend.

I got a Dollar!

Ascher also got his Halloween package from Grandma and Papa! He was really excited to see it, and even more excited when he saw that he got a Dollar!!! I think he even forgot about the candy for a while! He also got a Halloween costume for next year hopefully! He also received a coloring book, new window clings (which he likes to touch and thinks feels like bugs), candy and fruit snacks! Thanks grandma and papa! The candy has kept him awake for over a week now!

Let's Try Again

So, we bought Ascher this really nice potty in March. Ever since, he has been so hesitant and afraid of it. He has started to show some interest....he has even sat on the potty with no diaper several times!!! Each time he sits on the potty, he gets 1 M&M...if he actually pees on the potty, he gets 1 jelly bean! We haven't reached that, but I have actually poured water into it so he could see what happens!! He thinks its a game, but we are working on how important it is to use the potty! We shall see how things will progress.

Halloween

Trick-or-Treating has come and gone....and we had a pretty good time! Ascher obviously went as Donald Duck! Thursday we traveled around Gurnee Mills. It was PACKED! and Ascher was still trying to grasp the concept of people touching HIS bag to put candy in. Friday, we travelled the neighborhood with our neighbors. That was just as crazy, but the people were more spread out and orderly. Ascher started by walking with the big kids...but eventually made his spot permanently known in the wagon! Someone gave him a bag of M&M cookies and that was it. He was done! As for the house, we had a few people come, but all our candy was taken when someone emptied our entire basket into their bags and left!
