Halloween at the Rec

Yesterday, we went with our neighbors to the Round Lake Rec Center for Halloween! We had a great time with indoor Trick-or-Treating, games, and face painting. We then came home and had a little party! We ordered pizza, played games and had a really great fire pit! I know I say it alot, but we have the best neighbors! We really had a great time, and look forward to Trick-or-Treating again maybe next week.

Ascher's Pumpkin!

Here it is, the final product!

Painting Pumpkins

Once our pumpkins were picked, we went home to paint them! Well, at least Aschers. We let him finger paint his pumpkin, and he really enjoyed it. He got a little messy, and in the end, decided to eat the paint. All in all, he had a really great time! As for our pumpkin, it still sits uncarved on the porch.

Pumpkin Picking

I took Saturday off last week so we could go pumpkin picking. There was a nice little place down the street that had quite a big selection. Ascher enjoyed sitting in the pumpkins and banging on them. They had donkeys, a pumpkin jumper and a corn maze. It wasn't exactly what we were looking for as far as a Fall Festival, but it served its purpose of getting a pumpkin.

Finger Painting

Things have been quiet around here these days! School has started, and all the kids are gone, leaving Ascher to himself. He really has gotten good at crawling on all 4's, which is amazing! Don't worry, he still army crawls occasionally. He also really likes to pull up on the furniture and cruise around he house. He's been doing this for a while now. We are paitently waiting for him to start letting go and moving on his own. He will let go of the furniture and balance, which is nice to watch. So he knows what he's doing, he's just taking his time. He has also become more opinionated. Screaming when you tell him No, putting up a fight when he still wants to play....which makes it difficult for me, because all I want to do is laugh, but can't. I have to keep a straight face as well as tell him why he can or cannot do something. So it's been interesting to say the least.

We are getting ready for Halloween as well! I finally found Ascher's costume in his size. He looks really cute in it, and likes tocrawl around wearing it. We are going to the local Halloween festival next weekend with our neighbors. Then Immer wants to take him to our friends neighborhood to go door to door. We'll see about that! Well, nothing else really interesting going on these days. We are just getting ready for the holidays!

Who...Me?

I was nice enough to change his diaper....and this is how he thanks me! Wipes all over the floor!

Halloween!!

Our house has been decorated for quite some time now, but I just put these lights up! I love them, but realized way too late that I didn't buy enough to put outside :(. So the jack-o-lanterns are living in the house now. Ascher likes to try to grab them, so I have had to pull them a little higher now. It's really fun to decorate like this, hopefully Ascher won't destroy them!

Riding

Ascher still enjoys riding his bike. Although, he now likes to push himself into the grass. He also throws a fit if you try to get him out of the grass. It takes quite a bit of convincing to get him to actually walk around the driveway. But he really enjoys it, and hopefully the weather will give us some nice days to ride again soon!

He asked for It.

As I was cleaning up Ascher's closet, he pulled out a pair of gloves, and wanted to put them on. So I did. He thought it was the funniest thing wearing them! He then proceeded to try and play in them. This was also funny to watch. He was very determined, and kept them on a lot longer than I thought he would. Finally, I took one hand out, and he managed to get his other hand out. He then looked at me, gave me the gloves, and wanted me to put them back on! Crazy kid!

A Day at the Park

We recently went to the park with our neighbors, and Ascher had a great time! Hopefully hanging out with children who walk will encourage him to do the same!! Here he is in the swing with our neighbor Leah. I only have two hands, and this is the only way they could swing at the same time!

Ascher wanted to play with them on the see-saw, so he just crawled on over. I love his trail that he left! He was covered in mulch from that point on, but oh well.
