Two Days Later

Two days later....and the swelling still hasn't gone down yet. He talks like Drew Barrymore and smiles like Harrison Ford.

All stitched up

And here he is, all sewed up. It's his left corner of his mouth. Yeah, right there where it's swollen. He is now at home resting well. They gave him some antibiotics and other instructions that we are to follow for the next week. Hopefully it will heal quickly and not leave too much damage to his little face.

And this is WAY worse

It started out as a nice, peaceful Saturday morning. We woke up, had coffee and oatmeal...and started to plan our day. Ascher has been a little stir-crazy lately, so we figured that a nice trip outside to burn energy was the best thing for him. So I hopped in the shower, and started to get the ball rolling. Until Immer walked into the bathroom carrying Ascher in his arms, with a little mess on his shirt. Somehow, Ascher fell in the living room. He hit his face on the ottoman (which is upholstered) and apparently bit his lip. We were not too sure what steps to take, but after further investigation, we decided to take him to the ER and make sure things were OK. Good thing we went.....poor thing needed 5 stitches in his mouth. 1 inside, and 4 outside, right on the corner of his mouth. It was not a fun little trip. Luckily, things went smoothly and the doctor moved pretty quick and sewed him up nice and tight.

Until Today, I thought this was bad

We had just returned from a great trip to the craft store, and bought all kinds of fun things to make Christmas cards! Ascher was so excited, that he turned around to get things started, and slammed into the corner of our dining room table. He had such a huge welt immediately! So I put ice on it, wrapped him up, and we relaxed and took things slowly for the rest of the day. Luckily, the swelling from the bump went down, and he was left with just a nasty bruise. It's healing nicely, but still hurts to look at.

Playdate at the park

I'm not sure if anyone else has this happening in your neighborhood, but recently, we've had parks popping up everywhere! And really cool ones at that! The weekend after Halloween we had a beautiful weekend (of course!), so we headed to the park. It was really fun, and really new. Everything was designed by kids, and that park was full of them! Unfortunately, we haven't had another nice weekend since. So we will remember the park for next Spring!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween has come and gone....and I must say, I feel like we missed it. We waited, and waited, and made costumes and plans, and then nothing exciting happened. The weather was not too nice, Ascher was a little confused (because NOBODY was out).....and we were really cold. So we ran around to a few houses...got a few pieces of candy....and ran home to the warmth. We headed to a few parties, saw some friends, then called it a day. Hopefully next year it will be warmer and more people will come out!
