A Gift from Grema

Ascher really likes his new kitchen set....so we asked Grema to make us some pot holders and oven mitts. And what do you know, we got some! Ascher really enjoys cooking with them. Pulling things out of the oven, cooking on the stove and cleaning up! It's fun the see his imagination working so quickly!

A Trip to the Requarium

It was time for a family day....so we decided to head downtown to the Aquarium! Unfortunately, we didn't get there until after lunch, but it still gave us plenty of time to see the exhibits. Ascher really enjoyed watching the fish swimming, and looking at the different colors and shapes of them.
He liked watching the beluga whales swimming. They were really playful after the show! They kept singing and splashing us! Unfortunately, I wish we could say the same about the new Fantasea show. That was horrible. Instead of talking about each animal and giving cute facts, they now make the animal trainers dress up like their animals and parade around like goof balls. There was no talking at all during the show...and weird hippy looking people dancing around. I really like the aquarium, and recommend it...but not that show. It was bad. Really bad. Don't see it. And I never say that about anything.

Making Cakes

As you know...I really enjoy baking. So my neighbor asked me to make a jungle themed cake for her daughters birthday. So, I agreed, but only if I had creative freedom. She couldn't see it until it was done. Ta-Dah!! It took two days to create the little animals. The hardest part was making sure everything looked realistic and dried in time. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see her reaction. I was working. But from her text messages...I think she loved it! This is a new decorating realm for me....and one I think I will be working with again!

A new look!

Ugh....I've been getting kinda bored in the house lately. So on New Years Day...it was either go to the mall with a load of people.....or rearrange the house. We took some initiative and rearranged the living room! And I love it! Not only did we find a lot of Ascher's missing toys, but it really opened up the house!

I love sitting on the sofa now and looking outside. Plus, it has freed up lots of space in the house. We dragged most of Ascher's toys upstairs to the loft (won't show a photo of that though....Way too messy!) for him to play as he likes throughout the day. Plus, I found some fantastic fabric at work, for a steal of a price! So I am in the process of making some fun new drapes for the windows!
