Quick Learner

Ascher has been doing really good with his words. And we really are not doing anything to encourage it(I don't sit there and make threats if he doesn't learn his vowels type thing). We just sit and play and he picks things up. It's really cool...and kinda scary at the same time!

Ascher has also learned his numbers, somewhat. He plays with his table he got last year for Christmas, and has picked up on the numbers. Immer has also been working with him on them too. I tried getting him to do them in English, but it hasn't worked yet. Because usually, when I count to 3, that means someone is in trouble. So when I start to count, he thinks he's done something wrong. So I must think of a different way for that lesson!

He also likes to learn his animal sounds. He has a Little People Zoo, which makes all the animal sounds. He pushes all the buttons to hear what they sound like, then tries to mimic them. He can do a peacock pretty good, which is a rather odd sound to begin with. He loves to make noises!

Jelly Bean Effect

And this is what happens when Ascher eats his Jelly Beans. He runs around like a crazy kid with a bucket on his head! At least this time he isn't running into cabinets!

Odd play toy

Ok, when we moved into the house, we had those doorstops that spring back and forth. Once Ascher learned to walk, he learned to take them off the wall and play with them on his finger. Well, we thought we would outsmart him and replace them with solid metal stops. Well, he got us back! He actually pulled this one off the metal post, leaving half of it still in the wall! I couldn't believe it, and Immer thought I was kidding! Hopefully this was just a defective stop....or our son is really strong.

Hats

We have tried all winter to get Ascher to wear his hat. He is so slick at taking it off, that we even had to turn the car around in the city just to get it back one day! But this week, he decided that he will only wear MY hat. And I'm sad to say, that hat fits his head way better than mine! But hey, at least he's wearing a hat. Now we just have to get him to wear it outside.

Summer Craving

Ascher really loves to play with boxes, so while he was playing with this rather large one, Immer decided to show him how to "really use" this box. So after a few tumbles into the chair, Ascher really started to love it! Now he pulls the box out and wants me to play this game. Sorry baby...but that's all daddy right there!

Twins!

I came home from work on Sunday to find the boys dressed alike! Immer pulled clothes out for Ascher from the top shelf, which is the "don't fit me yet, so I'm waiting to wear them" shelf. So Ascher's pants were too big in the leg, so they are cuffed, and the shirt was hanging over his hands. Immer claimed to not know this....but it's been like that since we moved it. What can I say....at least they still weren't in their pajama's like every other weekend when I come home!

Nathan's Birthday!

Last weekend we treked up North for Nathan's 2nd Birthday! I don't know which was more exciting, the driving or the party! The weather was really bad in Wisconsin, and we saw some accidents and encountered quite a bit of drifting and ice. Luckly, Immer was white-knuckling it all the way home like a good boy....unfortunately, we were in my light and tiny car, making the trip even scarier! But we had a great time and it was fun to see Nathan! Ascher is finally catching up with him in size too....he better watch out for the little guy!

With all of this snow, Ascher just couldn't resist not playing in it! So I opened the patio door for him to grab some. He liked the feel of it, but liked eating it more!

Ascher's Valentine's Day

Blowing

Last week, Ascher and I were not feeling very well. We had those crazy head colds which I'm sure everyone else is suffering from right now as well. So I took this as a perfect opportunity to teach him how to blow. Now, I just need to get him to always use a tissue.

Snow Day!

Last Friday, we recieved at least a foot of snow...so I decided to have some fun! Woke up, got dressed, and Ascher and I played in the snow! He had a little difficulty walking in it, but once he got the hang of it, he had fun!

Then we realized our neighbors were home, so we invited them out to play! They brought out their big sleds and headed for the hill next to our house. We tried this last year, and Ascher wasn't too thrilled. This year....he said "WHEEEE!" all the way down. We did it several times, and he really enjoyed himself! Then he started to get fussy, so we went in and warmed up. We were out there for about an hour, and I'm very surprised he lasted that long!

Ascher received this wonderful toy from Amy, and he loves to play it. He likes to sit at his table and really play. He's really good at it, and makes some really cool sounds with it.
