Growing Like a Weed!
Ascher really isn't into chocolate, so it surprised me when I heard him asking for the cookies on his table. When I went into the kitchen, I saw that he had taken several pieces of toffee and had eaten the chocolate off the top. I never figured that he would grab candy from the counter and eat it!! How funny is that.....to top it off.....he didn't even like it!
Ascher and Nicholas- friends- but not when cake is involved!

G-Gma's Christmas
Once our house had settled down, we headed to Immer's cousins house. Ascher had a really great time there. He really loves playing with Anthony and Jacquline. Their dad, Dan, was excited to see us as well. He always requests a new dessert for the holidays. So this year I made a dark chocolate cake with some great frosting. He ate a small sampling of the dinner, then hit the desserts! I must say, I think everyone who ate it was in heaven! It was good to see everyone at once, and was definately a smaller and more intimate affair than the past few years. Unfortunately, we couldn't stay too long there. We had to head down south for the other family Christmas gathering. Once there, we tried for a family photo. As you can tel.... it didn't work out very well!!
Christmas Morning
Ah, Christmas morning.....
Surprisingly, Ascher slept in! Once awake, we brought him downstairs. He understands the concept of Santa, but I don't think he actually put two and two together yet! But as soon as he saw the presents, he wanted to open them all! Unfortunately, we didnt' really plan too well. We made him wait until coffee and rolls were done cooking before he could actually open the presents! Once he was allowed though, he went to town! He wanted to open everyones gifts, including ours!! All in all, Ascher had a really great Christmas! He received lots of wonderful toys, movies and games for him to play with all year long!!

Baking Goodies
The baking season has come and gone....and went rather smoothly this year!! Ascher was really excited to help with the M&M cookies. He did a really good job putting three candies on each cookie.....but he also put just as many in his mouth!! So this was his only batch that he actually "baked". The rest were done during his nap hour!!

First Snow!
Ascher has been dying to play in the snow! I finally got him some snow pants (and a coat with one arm longer than the other, but that's another story!!) so he could really enjoy his time outside. So when the snow finally came, he couldn't' wait to go out! He loved making (snow)balls and throwing them, using his dump trucks to clear the drive-way, and climbing up the hill and falling in the snow. He was out for about 45 minutes when his hands started to get red. We finally decided to go in, and he threw a fit. It was so hard to get him in the house!! But I did order him some proper gloves and coat to complete the ensemble....so maybe with this new snow he can play outside for a little longer!
Cuddle
Ascher really loves his "Cuddle" book. We read it to him almost daily!! Then the other day, we sat down and he decided to read it to me! I was so impressed and excited that he actually listens to me!! I wonder how long that will last......
(sorry about the loud noises in the back, Immer decided to be really loud will talking to Mike. I think he secretly knew I was recording and decided to sabatoge the whole thing!)

Bored in the Van
Ever since we got the van, Ascher has been spoiled! There is a DVD player in there, and occasionally he gets to watch movies (you know, long road trips, temper tantrums, or trying to keep him awake). Well, lately he's been asking much more, and I always say no. So, this is what he does the entire time we are in the car now. It's like his way of being bored and pouting at the same time!
Happy Turkey Day!!
Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone....and it was fun!! Ascher really enjoyed seeing his cousins (seated above, Ascher, Isabella, and Kaylin). G-Gma definitely did a great job....even with the new turkey tester. It's amazing how many people can actually fit into her house too. Every year, more and more people are added to the list. Luckily, they are all tiny babies that don't require too much food. But in a few years, that will be a different story!!
Some of the festivities that happened:
Ascher and Isabella (they are only 9 days apart!)
The "Hang Test" between Ascher and Isabella.....and Ascher won by a landslide!!
