Wait...Why???

Eh- you can't tell in the photo...but its snowing on my pumpkins. I'm sorry, but am I a little late this year with pumpkins, or is someone a little early this year with the snow?

Pumpkin Carving

Sunday morning we hit the kitchen to carve and paint pumpkins. Ascher really did not like the inside of the pumpkin, and refused to touch it. Even after Immer tried to force him into it. He prefered painting his pumpkins. So I gave Immer the dirty job of cleaning the pumpkin, and I helped Ascher paint his. Once Immer was done, he made me carve it, thinking I wouldn't know what to do. Immer then helped Ascher paint his second pumpkin. I think all the pumpkins turned out great, and am happy that we actually got to carve them this year! (last year they just sat on the porch and got covered in snow and went uncarved!)

For the Boys

In case your husbands are like mine.....here is the answer to such a puzzling habit.

**Plus, my closet isn't big enough.

Pumpkin Patch

Tis the season again for Pumpkins! We went to the farm Saturday afternoon, and it was a little chilly! Ascher really liked touching all of the pumpkins, and tried to take more than one home! He was lucky enough to get two pumpkins, but tried to get four! Well, that didn't go too well, and he threw a fit. That in turn ended the pumpkin patch a little early. But we still had a good time, and it was a quirky but cute little farm.

Hurry up daddy!!

Recently, Ascher received a package from Uncle David. He was so anxious to open it, that he went into the junk drawer himself and pulled the scissors out! That, of course, (made me laugh) delayed the opening of the box until daddy came home. Once the box was opened, Ascher pulled out some new trains! He wanted them out right away and could hardly wait for us to untape, unstrap and disconnect all the wires from the toys. We could barely get him to focus on dinner, and that's all he's been playing with for a week now. He has now learned that the Geotrax work both on and off the the tracks. So he turns them on and watches them go in the kitchen. After a few minutes, he finds something better to do, or even forgets about them. But the trains are still going in the kitchen, trying their hardest to push through the walls or cabinets, or wait for their batteries to die. So I have to constantly turn these things off or turn them around. Ahhhh....what fun toys with batteries are!

It was bound to Happen

This has happened before, but I don't think I posted it....but it's still funny. Last time it happened, he could easily get himself out of such a situation. But now that he's a little older, he couldn't! His little bottom was stuck snugly in between those legs and he couldn't move!

A Painting Pro

Ah....the cold is setting in.....forcing me to become more creative with indoor activities. Usually, I would just shove him out the door and he wouldn't want to come in for hours. Now, it's too cold and takes too much time to get ready to even think of going outside. For some reason, we have missed the Fall Season. It's gone. The trees are gold, but the wind is cold. Oh well. Hopefully we will get the coldness over with early and have a nice early Spring that lasts a while.
So I busted out the watercolors for Ascher. This is a new adventure for us, and one that we are going to have to practice to make perfect. He ended up getting mad, taking black paint and flinging it all over the kitchen, which ended his painting session a little early. Hopefully, he will learn not to throw paint all over the house. If it happens again, we're giving them to Baby Nicholas.

The Coolest Park!

A few weekends ago....Immer took us to a really cool park! It had so many wonderful play areas all made from wood! They had two houses, a train, plane, castle and spaceship. Ascher really enjoyed the park, and really didn't want to leave. There really wasn't many other children around, so we had the park all to ourselves. It's really cool, and we will probably be visiting there quite frequently!
