Here's a wonderful site for our friends and family to see what's happening here in Round Lake! Hope you enjoy!
Hahaha!
Growing up, my mom always had a hard time keeping track of her dishtowels. Finally, we figured out that it was Amy, walking around the house, bringing them in her room, and never bringing them back out(but she was a teenager when she did this). Now, Ascher likes to take the towels from the stove handle and walk around the living room with them. At first, I really didn't pay much attention to this, until every time I'd take it away, Ascher would come back and grab it from me! Finally, I had to give him a new clean towel permanently! Immer calls him our Little Linus, and I think it fits.
I swear...I did not teach him this, or encourage this behavior in any way! But it's still really funny to watch!
Ascher has gotten pretty daring!!! He walked all the way around the center island, TWICE!! He's so funny, he gets so excited, and scares himself. He's doing really great, and I'm sure he will be fully walking by the weekend! Yeah! He's getting so big!!
On Saturday, I decided to try my hand at hosting Thanksgiving. Needless to say, everyone is still alive, although I think I have quite a few gray hairs. The turkey continued to set off the fire alarm, although didn't burn. The turkey was cooked, but not completely, we had to cut and re-cook. Company showed up late, pushing dinner back. Immer said I didn't have enough butter in the dessert, everyone else loved it. Ascher only wanted to eat potatoes and rolls, and Nathan, my nephew, only wanted cheese. Otherwise, it was a great day, and everyone said they had a good time. Next time, I hope to push the envelope....and go more creative. That is, if Immer will let me do it again.
Ascher's been getting pretty good at getting around. Walking along furniture, using Diego, or the walls. But lately, he's become more daring. He loves this game, and likes to do it all day if he could. As a motivation tool, we started moving the pillows further away, making him walk more. He's getting really good at it....which means before long, he will be walking on his own!
Today, Ascher decided to add a better drum set to his resume. I was in the kitchen trying to make him Macaroni and cheese, and he wanted my attention. This is how he tried to get it.
Today, I was trying to get things done around the house, and kept hearing Ascher kinda whinning. Finally, I get a good view, and this is what I saw. I couldn't beleive it! He didn't climb over the arm of the sofa though. He actually climbed up onto the table! He was leaning his head on the arm of the sofa....like he was resting. He was fussing because he couldn't figure out how to get down. He has been teething pretty bad the past few days, and has just not been himself. He will just start whinning and crying, and always wants to be held! It's hard to not hold him all day, but I have to resist. I try to keep his occupied, but that doesn't always work. He really just wants to be held.
Cameron really likes hanging out with Ascher, and he feels the same. Here they are playing the drums and riding bikes. It's really great for the two of them to hang out. Cameron feels like an older brother, and Ascher has someone to look up to. He always gets more verbal after Cameron leaves, and likes to follow his lead.
Sunday, we celebrated Cameron's 5th birthday. It was his golden birthday, and his mom got him a huge Monster Truck jumpie jump!! We put it at the end of the drive-way and it attracted a lot of attention. I was really hoping that Ascher would enjoy it, since he loves to bounce and jump around. But as soon as that thing went up, Ascher would not let me go! I finally took him in there, and that was not a good idea! He screamed and cried, and finally I got out. My neighbor then tried, and that didn't go well either. Poor thing, I hope these fears will grow away!
Ascher loves walking with his Deigo bike....and Immer taught how to use it politely!! He now runs around saying "BEEP BEEP!!" He now likes to say it so much....that he is always saying it away from the bike. He also loves to scream for his "BOWL!" and "BALL!" He's really learning his words well. He is also trying to learn to walk. He likes to let go of things, and try to take some steps. Hopefully he will be fully walking really soon!
Our neighbors like to hang out with us after school, and Ascher really enjoys it when they hang out. Well, the little boy taught Ascher that this box was more than a box, it was a toy. And this is how Ascher decided to use it. We needed a little encouragement for him to perform, and Immer was more than eager to lend a hand. Shortly after this, the box was sadly put to rest in the recycle bin....it grew a hole.
